And certain women which had been healed of afflictions and infirmities ministered
unto the Lord with all gentle affection.
And of them were Mary of Magdala, Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s chief steward,
Susanna of Jotapata, Mary the sister of Martha and Lazarus, Regilla of Hippos, and
many others also, and they gave unto the ministry of their substance.
Summary: Joanna was among several women who ministered unto Yeshua and were counted
among his disciples (Y:11:2-3). She was partly responsible for converting her husband
Chuza, who served as Herod’s chief steward (AZC: Chuza).
Azrael’s Commentary - Chuza
Chief steward in the palace of Herod Antipas, Chuza became a believer in Yeshua through
the efforts of his wife Joanna, and of his friend Matthew. Chuzu is primarily responsible
for Herod’s refusal to pass judgment against Yeshua (Y:47:13-14).
