On the seventh day after Abraham was circumcised before the Lord, there came unto the grove of Mamre, Abiel of Salem, and he was clothed in white raiment and there was upon his countenance the power of endless lives.

Summary:  Abiel is a Teraphim from Salem of Merigoth who visited Abraham in the grove of Mamre. Abiel provided comfort and counsel to Abraham after the contention that arose from having a child with Hagar, his handmaiden (B:28:31-90).

 

 

Azrael’s Commentary - Abiel

 

One of the Teraphim, the highest order of ministering angels in the Celestial Kingdom; appointed the lowest seats in the councils of Elohim.
