Way (the)

Occurrences:  2

First Reference:  Enlightenment 2:23

What then shall we of the council do for the sake of our brethren who are made to labor with us on behalf of many spirits, which spirits have yet to enter into the Way?

See:  Hodos Alea

Summary: The “Way” refers to the path of eternal progression, also called the “Hodos Alea”. A prominent feature of the Way entails a spirit child incarnating multiple times on a mortal world, wherein he or she will have the opportunity to make choices amidst a vast spectrum of opposition. During this process, innocence is replaced by wisdom and a deeper knowledge of good and evil.

The term is used by Doriel, a presiding member of the council of Teraphim who gathered to discuss the troubling words of Shaemdiel, who at the time was the chief Arch-Angel of Elohim (E:2:19-26). Shaemdiel sought to modify the Hodos Alea by implementing a process of progression based upon his model of Immediate Recompense.

The Book of Pearls makes reference to the “hidden Way”, an internal path of wisdom and joy (P:8:7), which concept aligns closely what what is referred to in traditional Chinese religion and philosophy as the “Tao”.

Notes/References:

This is the mystery born of Mystery

Endless and filled with joy,

And before its gates, if you would stand,

To touch with eager heart,

In you shall be found the hidden Way

Rich in understanding.
