Song of Election

Occurrences:  1

First Reference:  Azrael’s Commentary: House of Mithron

See:  Mithron (House of)

Summary:  Prior to entering the mortal life, spirit children of God are gathered in the gardens of Mithron to receive final encouragement from their Heavenly Mother and Father. At this final gathering, the Heavenly Father sings a song composed by the Heavenly Mother. The song is referred to as the “Song of Election”. At the conclusion of the song, spirit children must choose whether or not to make covenants pertaining to living the mortal life (AZC — House of Mithron).

Perhaps an indirect reference to the Song of Election is presented in the book of Wisdom:

...and there came in Heaven a stillness, for the hosts of Heaven in silence stood, and in the stillness was there heard a song. For, behold, the soul of the great God did sing, that he might woo unto himself even every man and every woman, if it so be that they should hear the song and give heed. For God is not willing that even one should be lost.

Wisdom 16:3

Azrael’s Commentary — House of Mithron

[...] It is at this final gathering that the Heavenly Mother composes a song for her children, and giving the song to the father, the Heavenly Father sings the Song of Election. After the song is sung, the spirit children must decide whether or not to make their covenants for entering mortality. These covenants are placed in the House of Mithron. And as a general rule, almost all spirit children within a specified group will make these covenants. Those few who choose not to make covenants are graciously returned to Paradise.
