Which thing will cause that they should take the shortest and most direct route unto the fortress, causing that they must cross the frozen waters of Lake Tiberius.”
See: Aghi Wynakki, Drakonia, First Track, First World, Mount Pompeus, Octavius
Summary: During the First Track of the world of the First Power, Lake Tiberius (located in modern-day Alaska) became the scene of a deadly conclusion to the Chen’s invasion of the northern territories of Drakonia. The frozen lake was mined with explosives by Drakonian troops, according to a strategy conceived by the chief commander, Kronus Maximillius, who had been charged by the Emperor to assume command over the Fortress of Octavius and defend the territories of the north.
After battling Kronus’ men for several days, the armies of the Chen found their route over the frozen Lake Tiberius unimpeded. As the invading army was crossing the lake, the explosives were detonated and there perished some 40,000 troops of the Chen (3:16:61-63). This marked a brutal defeat for the Chen commander, Aghi Wynakki, who later included himself among the mass suicide of his troops (3:17:1-4).
Notes/References:
Thus would Kronus guide the Chen into the most cunning trap of all. And eagerly did the men of Kronus follow the order of their commander; and for six days did they harass and confront the Chen with deadly fury.
But on the seventh day did the Chen seem to sweep away from before them the forces of Drakonia, to stand themselves unopposed upon the shores of Lake Tiberius.
And there began to cross upon the surface of the lake, the forces of the Chen; and when there was upon the frozen ice a great many of the Chen, then did Kronus give command; and there suddenly exploded all the charges within the ice, and there perished that day some forty thousand of the Chen; being drowned in the waters beneath the ice.
