And there came to stand before him a cherub of exquisite beauty, filled with light and fairly made, whose name was Loriel of Avion and seeing that she was chief above many captains, she spoke unto Shaemdiel, saying:

See:  Bashiel, Cherubim, Keep (the), Pensieye, Shaemdiel                         Refer to:  Enlightenment 9:1-36

Summary:  Loriel of Avion is the First and Sovereign Queen of the Pensieye, one of the three tribes of Cherubim that dwell in the kingdoms of Heaven. She was appointed by Areta to be in charge of guarding the gates of the Keep soon after its creation (5:15:71-75).

After Shaemdiel (the Elohim’s Chief Archon) violently forced his way into the Keep to gather his lineage—having broken the wings of Bashiel, a sister guardian—he was met by Loriel and twelve thousand Cherubim who had gathered to stop Shaemdiel from taking further action against the will of Elohim. Shaemdiel refused Loriel’s three petitions to return his lineage to the Sanctuary, and proceeded to attack the twelve thousand Cherubim. After healing Loriel and her captains, Shaemdiel boldly offered them a chance to join him in his rebellion. Loriel stood firm in her allegiance to God, and once again commanded that Shaemdiel return the innocent to the Keep. Shaemdiel became enraged and lashed out once again at the Cherubim. Despite their vast numbers, the Cherubim were crushed by the power of Shaemdiel, being cast into the Chasm, broken and hurting. Galendriel came quickly with millions of Cherubim to rescue Loriel and the wounded Cherubim (E:9:1-36).
