Pearl 15
The Eternal is like an ocean,
Deep and filled with mystery.
Giving life and receiving life again and again.
Casting up from out of her depths,
The sands of endless time.
Casting upon the shores of life
The song of all your days but half remembered,
As though it were a dream.
Reflecting back into the heavens the sun and moon and stars.
To cast as diamonds upon the waves the wonders of creation.
All the streams and mighty rivers flow into the ocean.
For the waters of the Deep are lower than all the rest.
For it is humility which gives to the ocean
The sum of all her powers.
Dwelling in the deep places of the earth,
She refreshes and renews the whole world together.
For in the Eternal are all things made complete,
And filled with new beginnings.
So is the Master like an ocean,
Deep and filled with stillness;
Content and always humble,
Giving life to those who see,
Casting up before the eyes
The fruits of a humble heart.
For the fruits of humility are these:
Simplicity, patience, and compassion.
Thus in simplicity, you find yourself.
In patience, you are made content.
And in compassion, the seed of understanding is born within you.
